Patrick began his journey in education in Saudi Arabia by volunteering in an international elementary school. Inspired by the creativity and unique problem-solving mindsets of the children he worked with, he began his B.S. in early childhood education at the University of Nevada, Reno where he facilitated art, music, and math projects in a Reggio Emilia-based learning center. After teaching abroad in Thailand and the Czech Republic for 2 years, he started his career in Sierra County in the K-1 classroom and as an intervention teacher, moving to the area with his wife, Niecea. He continued to work at the K-12 school, filling roles as middle school math and music elective teacher at Downieville School, as well as a music instructor for the Sierra County Arts Council and Musica Sierra. In 2022, Patrick accepted a Math Intervention program in the neighboring district, Plumas County where he continues to explore his love for education.

Patrick is also a member of the Yuba Theater board and supports local productions at the theater for the school and community—such as the Turnpike Players.. He is an outdoor enthusiast (mountain biking and long distance running) and avid music lover who works on his own electronic compositions. He has also recently being mastering his skills in guitar!
