Born in Tahoe but raised in Napa Valley, Victoria spent her entire childhood coming back and forth to the High Sierra. Moving back to the mountains in 2001, she found a career in finance beginning at US Bank in Truckee, assisting in the financial operations of Donner Ski Ranch and eventually moving out to Sierra Valley to work for non-profits such as the Sierra Valley Resource Conservation District and the Sierra County Fire Safe Council. In 2016 she joined the Sierra Schools Foundation in hopes of adding her financial experience and passion for non-profits to the amazing leadership already in place. Growing up in an area where school resources were plentiful and electives were broad, she sees the need for growing rural schools and bridging gaps in the educational system. With a genuine love for community and charity, Victoria is honored to be a part of a team who puts these two things first, collectively working to make an educational vision a reality. Victoria is married to a Downieville native and has 3 daughters who now get to experience mountain living firsthand. She loves the strong cultural and lineage ties that the community provides and is grateful that her children have this opportunity to be a part of it. In her own words, “I grew up in a city where there were no limitations to what you could learn or take part in. I want this same prospect for rural kids and see a need to bring more financial support and tangible learning to our area. The Sierra Schools Foundation has opened up doors to all kinds of opportunities that our children and teachers would otherwise not have. We are working hard to expand this support and make big dreams matter and I couldn’t be more proud of the work our Foundation does. It is life changing when you see people of all walks of life coming together to support a common goal.”
